Digital Trim, rotary ceramic printer for complementary pieces

Tile printer for special complementary pieces

Digital Trim is a unique rotary printer that can decorate over curved pieces and their rounded borders. Designed to print over all sorts of complementary pieces: skirtings, trims, listelos, borders, etc.

Rotary print reproduction of any tile base design

Digital Trim allows rotary of complementary pieces (borders, skirtings, bullnose and other trims) with an identical quality to that of the reference base tiles.

For base tiles made with rotary, it is not necessary to make a conversion of the design either to flat silk-screen printing or decals. Digital Trim is a rotary printer that directly reproduces designs on complementary pieces without a loss in quality or shade intensity.

In the case of base tiles made with flat silk-screen printing, design and its later accurate reproduction on complementary pieces is obtained with flexography or CretaPrint’s exclusive Digital Roller printing system. The latter allows the reproduction of any design with a resolution of up to 50 dots per centimetre, even higher to that achieved in industrial decoration when using flat screens or decals.

Printing up to the edges and over relief tiles

Digital Trim is designed to print up to the edge and over relief complementary pieces whose decoration was only possible using decals. Each manufacturer can choose the combination of printing systems and roller hardness that better suits each type of piece:

  • Relief pieces: printing with flexography and extra-soft rollers that adapt to the shape of tiles.
  • Skirtings: printing with flexographic photopolymers set on soft foam rollers which decorate up to the curved edge of the skirting piece.
  • Bullnose: printing with soft rollers or flexographic photopolymers.

Automation and cost savings in tile printing

Digital Trim fully automates tile complementary pieces printing. Such automation generates important cost savings when compared to other systems:

  • Effective production time is maximized as periodic production halts for silk-screen cleaning are unnecessary.
  • Manpower exclusively dedicated to the manual application of traces can be partially assigned to other production tasks.
  • Reduction in rejects percentage since there are no differences in the quality and shade intensity between base and complementary matching tiles.
